The cubicals on the wall behind the ironing station is for my stash.

The second piece I got from my cubicals is a cutting table. This idea I got from my dear friend Pam.

This freed up enough space for my design wall. It was two peices of 4X8 Tyvek which I had one on two walls. Divided they were not big enough so I put them together. I just nailed the tyvek to the wall with some large headed nails and cut my flannel big enough to cover it. I then pinned my flannel on around the edges and tucked the raw edges down behind the tyvek with a putty spatula.

I left my sewing machine table in front of the window.

This 6 drawer storage thing with the tv on top is where I keep my thread to keep the sun from faiding it.

The other wire drawer storage is for my UFO's. and the book shelf is for my books and magazines. Now all I need to do is go get the rest of my stash out of storage. I have spent the last two days sewing in there so I already have it in a mess. I want to make me some kind of drapery to go in front of my fabric stash so the sun will not fade it.

Projects for February

January was gone in a flash and it is now the 15th of February and it seems like yesterday was Christmas eve.

I have been very busy trying to get some of the clutter out of my sewing studio. I had accumulated so much stuff that I could not get anything done.

DH and I painted the walls and ceilings. I had some closetmaid cubicals on the back wall for my fabric stash. I wanted to do some stuff with some of my collection of BOW and WOB and when I took them down to cut them I had some gray streaks in them where the light had faded them while they were folded in the storage bins. I also had no free walls in my studio and I wanted to make it more appealing to the eye when you walk in. Before it looked like a cyclone had gone thru it and I spent more time looking for things to do with and never got anything done.

We took some of the cubicals down and screwed them together. Then we put a top on them. One section has become my cutting table/work table and the other section has become my ironing table/work table.

I have left 6 of my cubicals together for my stash. I also purchased me some closet drawers to store my thread in because the light was also fading my thread.
I will take some pictures tomorrow and post to show you what I have done so far. I will try to find a picture of the room before.

WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?

Sorry I have not done anything else with my cross stitch swap. I am going to wait until the first of the year when every thing slows down a bit before I get going on it.

Update on the cross stitch books. All of them have been mailed and taken. After the first of the year, I will do some more cleaning and I will have some more stuff.

I finally got my mini quilt swap done and mailed it to tis me. This is a picture of the one she sent me. I have spent the last month taking down all the pictures off the walls storing away all the decor in my house. We had all the interior of the house painted except two bedrooms. We had all the ceilings, walls, and trim painted. I would have a lots rather move than all that.

Now I get to dust and clean off everything as I put it back where it belongs. I have a list a mile long to go on free cycle of things that no longer match the new colors. None of my curtains work anymore. I have to make new drapes and new quilt for my bed.

We spent 4 long days watching tv and living in the spare bedroom because all the furniture was covered up in the rest of the house. I have spent the last three days cleaning and putting everything back where it belongs.
Mike has spent the last two days buying paint and repainting places that the painters missed. You would think that if you paid someone to paint your house it would be painted. It does not always work that way.
If I half ass done something like that for someone else, it would ruin my reputation and I would starve. I guess I did not do my home work and check her out good enough. LESSONS LEARNED!!!!!!

Darling husband bought me a new car Friday. I love it. I have been driving a pick up truck since my daughter got married in 1997. It is a mocha metalic (taupe) colored Chevrolet Equinox. It has all the bells and whistles on it. Almost too fancy for me.

Tomorrow I am doing the blood work and preregistering for surgery on my knee Thursday. I should be incapacitated for a few days this weekend. I have had this done before and as I remember it was painful for a few days. I was a lot younger then than I am now.

My journey has hit a brick wall since I have not been able to walk and exercise. I hope by this time next week I can start back walking. I have lost 21 pounds and I have hit a brick wall. Hopefully things will get back on track shortly after my knee surgery.

I will try to post pictures of the new car and new house colors this week.
We had a birthday party Sat at the new fire station for John Paul and Ruth Ann. The kids young and old had a very good time. I will try to post some pictures of that also. I will do it Friday while I can not get around very well.

HAPPY LABOR DAY TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!!

I have been on a journey since July 14th. {i hate the word diet so I call it a journey} I have lost 21 pounds and still have quite a few more pounds to go. Wish me luck!!! I used to say I wanted to make my husband proud of me again for our 40th wedding anniversay. I dont say that anymore. I JUST WANT TO BE PROUD OF MYSELF!!!

Happy Birthday to my dear husband on Sept.4, 2010. He is eligable for Social Security. I can not believe I am married to someone that is 62!!!

We left Friday and went to Foxworth, Ms to spend the night with Mikes brother and his wife, Micky and Janet. When Mickey got off work Sat. at noon we left and went to Ocean Springs, Ms. We ate at a place in Van Cleave called The Shed. It lived up to its name. It looked like my sons little barn in his back yard only this place had started out as a take out place and they had added on several times to make it into a
place to sit down and eat. Gooooooood food. Wild and crazy atmosphere. After dinner we found a sports bar and watched the end of the crazy end of the Ole Miss non game. We then stayed to watch the MS STATE game. We got up this morning and headed home as we have painters coming in the morning to paint the interior of our house before Thanksgiving.

Uncle Mickey will be at our house for Thanksgiving and it will be his 60th birthday on the 26th of November. Our Thanksgiving dinner will probably turn into a birthday party for him.

Now to get home to find out how much damage I have done to my 21 pound weight loss!!!

I did get a lot of work done on my mini quilt due in November. It is for an HGTV board member so I wont be able to post pictures of it until after she receives it.

I did just finish quilting a quilt for Quiltaholic for her Ronald McDonald House raffle. I hope I win it.
I will have to post a picture when I get home.

I FOUND A NEW WAY TO DO WATER AEROBICS TODAY!!!!!

We have had a terrible heat wave since the first of August. On the school bus every afternoon it has been averaging about 115 degrees with the heat index. The steering wheel just sticks to my hands and takes a while to get the black off my hands after I run the bus route.

This morning I came home and it was 80 degrees and cloudy and just barely sprinkling rain. I thought I would walk outside since we had a break in the heat. It was really nice. I walked and walked and when I got 2 miles up the road I turned around and came back. The reason I turned around is the clouds rolled in and the bottom fell out of the sky. I was drenched. It felt pretty good except the water on my glasses bothered me. I took theme off and hung them on the top of my T-shirt. By the time I got back to my driveway it had quit raining so I walked the half mile down the other way from the house to the main road. I walked back the half mile and went around the back of the house. We live in the country and during the day everyone within eye range of me is at work except mom. So I took my wet clothes off on the back porch and came in and got dried and dressed. I was going to get on the internet and see if it was going to rain on me on the evening bus route. Wait, I need my glasses. Ok they are hanging on my shirt. I went out on the patio and no glasses.

I can not see how to do anything except long range stuff. Here I go again walking up and down the road looking for my glasses. It took me an hour and a half to walk it the first time and it took me 3 hours to walk it the second time. Still no glasses. I called the doctor and asked about getting more glasses. If I got there by 5 I could get another pair by Friday. Oh no I can not even go the the bathroom without my glasses.

I ran my bus route and Mike called me. I found your glasses. Where? On the mat on the back porch.
Every time I would go to the door to check my wet shirt, I would open the door and the glasses would be behind the door. That saved me a bunch of money. Plus I walked 10 miles today. I am so tired that supper is going to be something easy.

Yard sale find

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; But when I tried to come to my blog my computer would not open any internet explorer windows. I went to windows explorer and found that I had no more room on my hard drive in my laptop. I proceeded to look to see what was taking up so much room that I could get rid of. I got jump drives and put all my saved stuff on them and freed up some room.
I finally realized that the music place I had downloaded had taken up all my room. I tried to uninstall it and I kept getting a popup block that told me I had to have permission to uninstall it for me to call them.

That did not work. I called iYogi my tech support at 11:00 pm. That was a mistake. I did not get off the phone until 5 am. I got rid of a lot of stuff on my computer and the music place download but he also did away with all my passwords. I had to add passwords all day today to be able to get back on the sites I normally visit. What a day.

I joined a water aerobics class in town that meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 till 11:30.
I did not wear any sunscreen on my face and now I have fever blisters all over my top lip. I met some really wonderful people and brought home some fabric from Fabric Depot. I was very good and did not go overboard. I knew it all had to fit in suitcase to come home.

Saturday trip to Sisters was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The quilts, town and people were all a sight to see. If you dont go to see this you are missing chance of a lifetime. The bus ride home was memorable thanks to the a/c not working on the bus.

Let me warn you now. If the a/c is not working properly on the bus then it does not cool the collection tank under the potty. I was so hot at sisters all day that I drank a gallon of water or more. On the bus on the way home I had to go really bad. We were on that winding down hill road out of the mountain and I kept thinking that at any moment we would round the curve and see the rest stop. Welll I couldnt wait. Pandibear said something to me on the way to the back of the bus but I had tunnell vision to the bathroom door and praying I would make it.

When I opened the door it was hot in there. I thought well it is because the a/c is not working properly. I was wrong. When I set down it was like MT SAINT HELEN! I got up really fast.
Hence my new board name "WARM BUNS ARISING". Have you ever tried standing up and holding on to keep from falling while you are using the bathroom. Quiltzilla and I had been talkig about California earthquakes before I went back there. She told me I would know what an earthquake felt like when I got in there. SHE WAS RIGHT! I finally got thru with my business and then the hard part. I tried to get my pants back up but we were on such a curvy road and I had no idea which way we were going next. I was falling into the wall and into the sink. I would hold on with one hand and pull on my pants with the other. One side would come up but the other side would not. I needed another hand! I am glad no one was in there with a video camera. I finally spread my feet apart as far as they would go and laid my face against the wall in front of me and braced myself. I quickly used two hand to get put back together and got out of there.

It was so hot in there that it felt like I had been in a sauna. Have you ever had a facial? They take the exfoliant, which feels like it has sand in it and scrub your face with it. Then they wrap hot towels around your face. When they take that off your face is burning and tingling. Then they put that moisturizer on there and you go AAAHHHHHHH! It feels so good. Thank goodness they were not budding.

This was taken at 7:00 am. By 10:30 it was all gone.

I woke up this morning to a soft one inch blanket of snow. To most of you, especially those from the north, you say big deal. But to us it is a big deal. This is the first snow of the year for us.

We get more ice than we do snow. The conditions have to be perfect for us to get snow. When a rain, or cold front comes from the west and reaches the Mississippi River, the rivers current causes all fronts to go northward and upward. That means that a front has to be really strong to get past the current and reach us. We are usuallly 20 to 40 miles short of the pretty snowfalls.

This morning was spent playing in the snow with our grandchildren and then Church. This afternoon will be spent auditioning fabrics for my encrusted cq class.

Todays News

I am taking Sharon B's Encrusted crazy quilt class at Joggles.com and it started today.

I am also working on my Blue color STudy block on the CQfor newbies group.

I will be back and show pictures of my work as soon as it is ready.

There is not enough hours in the day to do all I want to.

Happy sewing and God Bless!!!
LiNDA

Coasters for Darling Grandson's room

This is darling grandson and the coasters I made for his nightstand. I hope you can leave a comment. I am new to this blogging and I do not know if I have my blog set up so as you can leave a comment. I will check that out and see.

I have been sorting thru all my lace, buttons, beads, trim, fibers, and all the fabrics for my cq class and the Blue Color Study RR with the crazy quilting for newbies challenge. My sewing studio looks like Hurricane Camille hit it.

Tomorrow is my favorite SIL's birthday and I will have to bake him a cake so it will be Tuesday before I will get out there to work on it.

I quilted a baby quilt for my cousins daughter who is expecting a baby any day now. The Doctors tell them that the baby has a hole in its heart and it will have to be flown to Atlanta as soon as it is born and have surgery. Please lift them up to the Lord in your prayers.
The quilt turned out really cute. It was a premade top that my Aunt (babies Grandma) purchased at Hobby Lobby. I quilted it with a design from Ellen Munich's quiltrecipe from www.quiltrecipe.com. The pattern was kd1026_baby stuff meander. It is a meandering stitch with bottles, rattles, pacifers, bibs, and diaper pins in it. It turned out really cute.
My camera is out in the sewing studio covered up in all that mess so it will be Tuesday before I post a picture.

RECENT FINISHED PROJECTS

These two quilts were quilted for Royalboomer from my HGTV message board.
